Micro Enterprise Development (MED)
Since late nineteenth century GSF has been engaged in providing facilities of
micro credit / enterprise development to the vulnerable rural communities. However, the program was started with small credit schemes and later on raised in
frequency and portfolio. It has been proved as an essential element in the
reduction of poverty and enabled vulnerable communities to augment their
income, build small assets and ultimately reduction in mental stress. This
program has also increased the purchasing power of the communities.
About 20,000 clients have been served by GSF and still revolving the credit
The schemes are divided into three sectors i.e. agriculture, livestock and regular loans supported by OCT.
